I find personal and professional satisfaction in being a part of an you or your child's journey. I am particularly skilled working alongside pre-adolescents, adolescent, young adult females, and parents of teens, who feel stuck and in the trenches of family dynamics, significant relationships, life circumstances, and/or mental health conditions. Your teen may be desperately trying to find an outlet to channel their feelings. Are they overachievers pouring all their energy into school or sports? Does your teen feel lost, anxious, confused, or indecisive? Perhaps they bottle their anger, cut, or show you their rebellious side.
As a parent, you regularly share intense frustration, periods of hopelessness, and underlying sadness and desperation unsure of how to help your child. Your often question if your child needs therapy. One day you may think everything is okay, but then the next day you are certain your teen needs professional help. Sometimes you may wonder if you could benefit from therapy wondering what you can do to help your teen. With help, you may find relief knowing you or your child is receiving professional help. Parents who participate in therapy may learn alternative ways to communicate and connect with their teen, control their own emotional reactions that often set their teen off, and/or support their child through this often difficult transition and period into young adulthood.
I am here to potentially help you or your teen navigate this crazy time. While it is helpful to intervene early, it's never too late to make a call. I am warm yet, straight forward, flexible, and collaborative, depending on your child's age and the areas for needed growth. With teens, it is up to you and your child how much parent involvement is wanted or needed. With young children, I encourage and heavily rely upon caregivers to take an active role in treatment. Should you or your child need immediate services there are a list of resources can be found on the blog page. I look forward to connecting with you or your child!
