Sarah Grizzell

A native of San Antonio, Texas, I received my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an additional focus in special education from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas in 2006. In the 13 years since, I have taught both regular and special education, with experience all the way from pre-kindergarten through high school. While most of my teaching career has been at the elementary level and in working with children with special needs, I have accrued a wide variety of teaching, mentoring, and training experiences. I also have taught in an array of settings, ranging from large classrooms to one-on-one and small groups. Since moving to Knoxville four years ago, I have received training in the Wilson Reading System. I have been able to teach many elementary-aged students in this program, and have seen tremendous success.

Aside from my career, I am a wife and a mother of two kids. We love to head to the mountains to take in the beautiful scenery and go hiking. I love being able to travel and experience new places. Even though I am a born and raised Texan, I will forever be a fan of the Big Orange.

Jill Woods

Jill Woods attended the University of Tennessee and earned a Master of Science in Teacher Education with certifications in K-6 Elementary Education and K-12 Special Education. Since earning my degree, I have had wonderful opportunities to teach children as young as 2-5 years old, as well as students from Kindergarten through fifth grade. I have taught in general education classrooms; although, most of my teaching has been with students with specialized needs within special education classrooms.

Since completing the Wilson Reading System (WRS) intensive year-long training in 2013, I have been recognized as a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner and have consistently used the WRS in both the classroom and through private tutoring. I also work with students who need specialized support with writing, math, social skills, and reading comprehension. It is an awesome honor to be entrusted and immensely rewarding to be part of a student’s journey from a frustrated learner to one with growing confidence and success.
