I specialize in the treatment of anxiety based issues in adults and teenagers. I have considerable training in the assessment and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive and related disorders (OCD-R). I am well versed in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), which is the treatment of choice for anxiety and OCD-R disorders. I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and principles of mindfulness in my treatment. OCD has many subtypes and there are related disorders that are treated in the same way such as: panic attacks, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and specific phobias. I believe strongly in the healing power of the human-animal bond and I am a certified Animal Assisted Psychotherapist.
I am passionate about the care of the LGBTQIA+ community and I am willing to write letters as needed for the issues of the trans community. As an openly queer provider, my office is a safe and affirming space for clients of any gender or sexuality identification. I am a sex positive therapist and work with issues of consensual non-monogamy and kinks.
I am interested in working with clients who identify on the Autism Spectrum, people who need their therapist to understand a Catholic or Jewish background, and those of Asian or other collectivist societies. People with ADHD are warmly welcomed.
