I view therapy as a collaboration, a team effort. I bring to the table knowledge about mental health, primarily from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, with experience treating anxiety, depression and mood disorders, trauma, self-harm and suicidality, autism spectrum disorders, and behavior problems. My patients bring to the table unique knowledge about themselves, including what works and what doesn't work. Therapy can help generate new ways of thinking and going about their lives.
My goal with all my clients is to build a warm, open relationship in order to help them find and achieve their goals. Though I am trained in evidence based interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, I first aim to listen to my clients and understand them. A healthy therapeutic relationship is built on a foundation of mutual trust.
