I view therapy as a collaboration, a team effort. I bring to the table knowledge about mental health, particularly through cognitive behavioral therapy, with extensive experience in treating anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, trauma, self-harm and suicidality, autism spectrum disorders, and behavior problems. My patients also contribute unique insights about themselves, including what methods work for them and what doesn’t. Therapy can create new pathways for thinking and approaching their lives.
My goal with all my clients is to build a warm, open relationship to help them find and achieve their goals. While I am trained in evidence-based interventions like cognitive behavioral therapy, I first focus on listening to my clients and understanding their needs. A healthy therapeutic relationship, essential for effective anxiety treatment and depression therapy, is built on mutual trust. This connection also plays a crucial role in trauma therapy, which I incorporate into my practice as Dr. Dustin Lamport.
