Join Our Team!
Knoxville Behavioral and Mental Health Services is an established mental health group practice. We have a wonderful group of friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive professionals and are frequently looking for new colleagues to join our team. Our team members regularly support, encourage, and help each other to build a successful career and find the balance they seek. We understand that people may have different ideas of what their ideal career looks like and we thus offer the flexibility and support for clinicians to create and shape their own experience.
At this time we are only accepting licensed professionals so we can ensure our system is able to support them fully. However, we take pride in the diversity of professions we have on our team and are always open to a variety of backgrounds, including PhD’s, PsyD’s, LPC’s, LCSW’s, LMFT’s, SLP’s, OT’s, and PMHNP’s. We enjoy the ability to provide more collaborative and comprehensive care for patients. We have multiple systems to enable a variety of work settings, including in-clinic, telehealth/remote, and hybrid options. Though we are able to support telehealth providers, we do require that all of our providers are licensed for practice in Tennessee.
To help you build your ideal career, we emphasize autonomy for our clinicians. Clinicians are allowed to set their own rates and can choose which insurance plans they wish to credential with (if any). We offer multiple systems for handling billing, including in-house billing services, self-managed billing, and billing through a Type 2 NPI (which makes credentialing faster and easier). Clinicians also set their own hours, choose the types of patients they work with, and how many patients they will see. There is never any pressure to see more patients, though our structure naturally ensures clinicians are the primary beneficiary of their efforts.
Our practice is reciprocal; meaning it is successful when the clinicians are successful. We have developed a professional mentoring program within the practice in which we pair newer or less experienced clinicians with highly experienced and successful clinicians. This program has been very successful so far in helping clinicians meet their self-determined goals for caseloads, income, work hours, and balance. Many clinicians who are new to private practice feel unsure and intimidated, but this program has been effective in reducing this emotional stress and helping clinicians find their comfort.
