I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I enjoy helping individuals, couples, and families to navigate challenges in their lives. Whether you or someone in your family is experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, significant changes in life, or are wrestling with matters of meaning and identity, I would be honored to help. I also enjoy supporting couples through premarital counseling and those seeking to strengthen their relationships.
None of us exists in a vacuum, and my therapeutic approach is rooted in a systems perspective, recognizing that our struggles and strengths are shaped within the context of our relationships. I draw from structural and strategic models of family therapy as well as narrative therapy, while also integrating elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory, solution focused techniques, and others.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee, where I studied Wildlife and Fisheries Science, and I have worked in natural resource management as well as the outdoor industry. I completed my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Richmont Graduate University in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
I am a Knoxville native, and in my free time, I love spending time with my wife and two sons, hiking, fishing, paddling, or generally exploring and enjoying this beautiful part of the world.
