I am a native East Tennessean who has practiced pediatrics in Knoxville for nearly 40 years, caring for children from early childhood into young adulthood. The majority of my work has been in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, where I evaluate and treat children with a wide range of conditions, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, and in utero drug exposure.
Many of the children I see have complex medical and emotional needs, and it is uncommon for them to have a single diagnosis. I approach each child with the understanding that development is dynamic and influenced by genetics, neurobiology, and environment. Thorough evaluation and individualized care take all of these factors into account.
My primary focus is on providing accurate, thoughtful diagnoses that guide meaningful interventions. This often includes coordinating with therapists and other professionals in the community, as well as helping families access appropriate educational supports within the school system.
In some cases, medication can be a helpful component of treatment. While it is not a cure, it can serve as an important adjunct to support a child’s functioning and overall well-being. I provide careful management and monitoring when medication is indicated.
Throughout my career, my goal has been to help children and their families achieve the best possible quality of life.
At this time, my clinical caseload is full. I am currently available to see established patients and to provide consultation and support to other medical providers within the practice
