Psychiatric Mental Health Services in Knoxville

Meet Dr. Wells

Hello! I am Dr. Erin Wells, a nurse practitioner with a Doctorate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (Go VOLS!).

I provide consultation services, as well as evaluation, ADHD treatment, and medication management for anxiety, depression, mood and behavioral disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

I particularly enjoy working with neurodivergent patients of all ages, including professional healthcare workers. My focus extends to those navigating significant life transitions, such as adolescents moving into early adulthood, new mothers, and perimenopausal women.

Utilizing a functional medicine approach, I deliver personalized, patient-centered care that takes into account the physiological complications contributing to various behavioral disorders and emotional issues. My goal is to collaborate with my patients to develop a holistic, well-rounded plan tailored to their lifestyles, priorities, and health issues, emphasizing a mind-body approach.

My professional background includes experience in research, critical care, and psychiatric nursing, which enriches my understanding of the mind-body connection. My doctoral training emphasized ADHD treatment in adolescents transitioning to adulthood, addressing the additional complexities faced by neurodivergent individuals throughout their lives.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family in nature, reading, nurturing my houseplants, and enjoying the company of my pets, which include one dog, four cats, two turtles, and a variety of fish.
